Book of warrants (1784-1787) comprised of writs issued by Aaron and Robert Ogden, clerk and junior clerk of Essex County, to the sheriff of Essex County as a result of litigation in the Inferior Court of Common Pleas at Newark, including material on Loyalist forfeited estates; account book (1772-1779) kept by county tax office for the communities of Acquackanock (now Passaic), Connecticut Farms (Union Township), Elizabeth, Newark, Rahway, Springfield, and Westfield, including Samuel H. Congar's notes for his Genealogical Notices of the First Settlers of Newark (1866); and transcripts of hearings (1919) of a commission investigating alleged irregularities in the operation of Essex County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
